Have you ever dreamed of renting a convertible and driving along a beautiful coastline? So did we! That’s why we canceled our flight home from San Francisco, rented a Mustang convertible, and drove up to Point Reyes, California for the day. Little did we know, that this would spark our love for going on adventures around the world.

We like to think we are pretty spontaneous, and I believe this is why we ended up together. I left everything behind in Orlando to move down to south Florida with my dad at the start of my senior year of high school. I was ready for a change, and thankfully I did, because Adam and I met three months later at a party.

We have been inseparable ever since and have experienced quite a bit together. From managing a long-distance relationship in college, raising two dogs, surviving graduate school, starting our careers, and getting married. Now fast forward to nine years later and you have two high school sweethearts that are crazy about each other, their dogs, and going on adventures.

We have tried to make a conscious effort to say yes to every opportunity that comes our way. And we believe that you cannot just sit around and wait for good things to happen.

A perfect example of this is one night while on a road trip in Banff, Canada, we were sitting at dinner and I asked Adam if he was up for stargazing at a nearby lake. Even though we had a tour early the next morning, he agreed. So we went and waited…and waited…and waited some more until 2 am for it to be dark enough for the Milky Way to show, but it never did.

Just as we were about to leave, we saw something incredible, something that is probably on everyone’s bucket list. We couldn’t even believe our eyes and tried convincing ourselves that what we were seeing was an illusion.

It was only until we heard other people talking about it and looking up at the sky that we knew we were not imagining it. As the sky changed colors from turquoise green to royal purple, and moved in long rolling waves, we started to realize what we were watching was the Northern Lights!

If we hadn’t said yes to staying up late, we would have completely missed it. If fact, we would have missed this extremely rare occurrence and one of the biggest Northern Lights shows Banff has seen in a long time.

It was really hard to return home after that trip. We just wished we could stay a little bit longer, or maybe even forever. Ultimately this trip led us to decide to write a blog about our experiences. If we couldn’t stay on vacation forever, at least we could re-live our memories while sharing them with others.

Thank you for visiting our blog and we hope that it will inspire you to say yes to new adventures!
