Top 10 Couple’s Activities in Aruba!

litstravel.com (2)

Are you a couple that loves bright turquoise waters, long expanses of sandy beaches, the freshest seafood and adventurous actives like scuba and parasailing? If the answer is yes, your next romantic vacation should take you to the absolutely stunning island of Aruba. Situated in the Caribbean waters off the coast of Venezuela, Aruba has a lovely dry sunny climate that is cooled by a trade wind. The island was first inhabited by the Arawak people about one thousand years ago, and a history of colonization first by the Spanish and then by the Dutch has left a legacy of multiple cultures and architectural styles on the island.

Check out our top ten suggestions for a memorable couple’s trip to Aruba!

  1. Diving and Snorkeling

Aruba is the perfect location for diving and snorkeling. Aruba boasts a wide variety of marine life and many active coral reefs. There are even some shipwrecks that one can explore! Plus, the water is often at a perfect 80 degrees. We recommend visiting the Antilla wreck from 1941, because it is visible just beneath the surface of the water. At this site you’ll see coral and sponges attached to the wreck itself, and sea creatures like eels, octopus, puffer fish, angelfish and silversides swimming or floating about.

2. UTV Tour

We highly recommend inserting a dose of thrill into your trip with an UTV tour! You’ll ride across bluffs and stunning beaches, kicking up sand and dirt behind you as you go. Many tours, including our top pick, include a visit to a stunning naturally formed pool for a refreshing swim!

3. Sunset Cruise

No trip to Aruba would be complete without spending some time on the water. We suggest cruising around the sunset hour to take advantage of the way the sun goes down over the ocean. There are many options to charter a sailboat or catamaran with your special someone!

4. Dinner on the beach

Aruba hosts many oceanside restaurants and bars. Follow up your sunset sailing adventure with a relaxing meal and drinks where you can hear the ocean waves.  We loved trying out Aruban pan-fried fish. Mahi-Mahi and Golden Snapper are delicious choices.

5. Parasailing

There is no better way to view Aruba’s sparkling ocean waters and pristine sandy beaches than from above! Parasailing will give you that perfect view with a healthy dose of adrenaline. Check out our recommendation for where and how to do it!

6. Walk/run on the beach or boardwalk

7. Go shopping

For a local experience, try shopping on Main Street in Orangestad. The half-mile stretch is lined with bright pastel buildings. You’ll find many stands as well as full shops. If you are looking for a mall, the Renaissance Mall is nearby with hundreds of stores, a movie theater and two casinos.

8. Couples massage

Fully embrace the spirit of rejuvenation and self care with a couples massage on your Aruba trip! This might just be the right away to unwind after something more active like an UTV tour or diving trip.

9. Try your luck in a Casino

When you need a break from the sun and sand, consider trying out one of Aruba’s fantastic casinos. We suggest the Stellaris Casino, Crystal Casino or Seaport Casino because they are open 24 hours a day and you can have as late of an evening as you like. Just remember to set a limit for how much you are willing to gamble away!

10. Flamingo Beach

Yes, there really are flamingos at Flamingo Beach! But you’ll have to make a plan in order to see them. These flamingos are located on the Renaissance Private Island, and a day pass will cost you $100. Or, you could spend the night at the Renaissance Resort and visit the flamingos for free!

As you can see, Aruba provides the opportunity for both romantic and heart-pumping dates. Take our advice and sweep your sweetie away on this Caribbean adventure!
